Taita José Atahualpa
Son of the late Taita Querubín — Shaman of the Shamans in Colombia was raised from a very early age into the practices of his father, as a traditional Curandero. He prepares his own medicine and holds ceremonies with love, care, precision and integrity, carrying a depth that only comes from lived experience within a lineage. He is now the heir of the legacy his father left, as one of the most important cabildos from Putumayo.

Taita Samith Osorio
A lifetime dedicated to the path of plant medicine, he started the path of Yagé (Ayahuasquero) 17 years ago, when he moved to the Amazon to learn with the late Taita Guillermo Lucitante. Grounded, precise, deeply committed to the well-being of each participant, we’ve learnt from Samith the attitude and energy for a good work. Even after several nights cooking and working, when everyone is tired, Samith always has a smile.

Fransie guides the ceremonies at Mahanse Retreats in Spain, works with Yagé (Ayahuasca), and carries the musical and vocal dimension of the retreat. His path has been shaped by years of experience, deep study, and the accompaniment of hundreds of people through guided processes. Fransie makes this trip once a year, so you can meet experienced shamans, the ones he trust and respects and though him.

Before you decide
Yes. Ayahuasca ceremonies conducted within an ancestral and traditional context are legally protected in Colombia. The Shamans we work with are recognized indigenous practitioners operating within their own cultural lineage.
No prior experience is required. What matters more is intention and readiness. However, this is a deep 10-day immersion with 6 ceremonies — intensive by nature. We screen participants carefully.
Before confirmation, you’ll have a video call with Fransie. We discuss your background, intentions, medical history, and whether this experience is right for you. We do not admit everyone who applies.
Ayahuasca is safe when approached with responsibility, proper screening, and experienced guidance. We do not admit individuals with contraindicated medical or psychiatric conditions.
We offer post-retreat group calls, a WhatsApp community, and optional individual therapy sessions. Integration is your responsibility — but you won’t be left alone.
